Filigree is a technique that dates back to 3000 BC and was brought to Mexico by the Spaniards in the 1500s. It has spun diverse cultures around the world.

Filigree is made from copper wire spun into a beautiful lace design and then dipped in a thin veil of 22-carat gold. Over time, it develops a distinct patina.
