Traditional hand-made artisan Mexican Rag Doll. Originated by the Indigenous Mazahua group as an alternative to a more traditional and economical toy as they competed with the arrival of the European porcelain dolls. With time this doll came to symbolize the Mazahua Women known as "Marias".
Each doll has its unique dress hand loomed with lace details. Braids are made of yarn with silk ribbons. Movable arms and legs that allow the doll to sit perfectly straight. Available in 4 different sizes.
