The Amuzgo huipil is one of the greatest treasures of Mexico. Hand-made by Indigenous Artisan women of Oaxaca who struggle to keep their ancestral weaving alive.
Made of raw cotton grown by the Amuzgo community and hand dyed with natural tints. Each huipil is made of 3 hand-loomed panels woven together with cotton thread. In each of the designs, you will find ancient symbols that hold the deepest expressions of the Amuzga culture.
DETAILS: Hand-loomed cotton thread.

A Huipil is a loose-fitting tunic made of joined pieces of fabric. Some are made with two, others with three which are then joined together. There is only an opening left for the arm. Huipiles are not meant to be tight-fitting or to enhance your body curves. You may use a belt or shawl around the waist.
